Level Measurement Switch
Blocked Chute Protection Switch
HAWK’s Blocked Chute Switches provide point-level switching for the presence or absence of most solid and liquid materials. HAWK’s blocked conveyor transfer chute switch is 50 times more sensitive than the competition, allowing it to predict blockage and build-up before it occurs. Eliminate downtime and increase productivity and profitability with HAWK’s durable line of blocked chute switches.
The Gladiator Gen 3 Microwave Switch can be used for blockage detection, barrier detection, machine detection, collision detection for protection, point level measurement, and detection of objects or material between two points.
A beam of microwave energy passes from a sender until to a separate receiver in bursts approximately 200 times per second. The presence or absence of the signal at the receiver is used to switch a relay for indication or control purposes.

The Gladiator Acoustic Switch uses Acoustic Wave technology in a new Sender / Receiver form for blocked chute detection and anti-collision for heavy machinery. The Gladiator Amplifier powers two AW Transducers which use special HAWK developed software where both units pulse and receive each other’s Acoustic echoes. The Transducers work both together and independently to detect pulse interference giving twice the application security. The Acoustic Switch is designed for continuous operation in dusty, wet environments where other technologies fail.

Vibrating Level Sensor
HAWK’s Vibrating Level Switches can detect liquid level within millimeter precision, regardless of the installation position. Featuring interface measurement of liquids and solids, these rugged switches are even available for use in potentially explosive atmospheres. Precision monitoring for liquid applications from filling systems to bulk holding tanks.

Sonar Interface Level System
HAWK’s Sonar Interface Level System can measure up to two density interfaces simultaneously. This system is easy to use, and the innovative design provides critical plant control to optimize performance. Ideal for applications from mining and metals to water and wastewater.
The ORCA Sonar Bed Level System will measure up to two density interfaces simultaneously. Typically, these are bed levels / RAS blanket and floc / fluff layers. The sonar produces a high-power concentrated beam and provides critical plant control to optimize performance.
The ORCA Sonar Bed Level transducer emits a high-powered acoustic pulse, which is reflected from the interface density selected. The reflected signal is processed using specially developed software algorithms, that eliminate lighter floating densities and stratified layers, allowing measurement of RAS or BED levels. It can be calibrated to measure lighter densities like FLOC or one of the outputs could be used for a CLARITY output, similar to a basic turbidity transmitter measuring solids in suspension. By choosing the correct sonar transducer frequency, the ORCA sonar guarantees the optimized performance when measuring both light and heavy-density interfaces.

The HAWK Sultan Sonar uses Advanced Sonar Technology to measure and control Wastewater Clarifiers and Thickeners. The system is easy to use, and the innovative design provides critical plant control to optimize performance. In the water, wastewater industry process conditions will vary greatly between a primary sedimentation tank, secondary/final clarifier, and a gravity thickener. Thickener bed levels, secondary RAS blanket, flocculent blanket, etc, all have different densities and the water above these interface levels are subject to different process conditions that change.
Principle of Operation
To optimize performance in each interface application under all process environments HAWK has developed a powerful low frequency transducer that penetrates through the suspended solids. It is capable of measuring the sludge bed level at the bottom of a clarifier or the lightest flocculent layer. Optimize performance under all process environments in each interface application. HAWK uses one transducer with a frequency and power level that is applicable to the density of the interface and process conditions expected in the tank. HAWK can guarantee performance for controlling pumps etc, rather than for monitoring purposes only.

Magnetic Level Gauges
HAWK’s Magnetic Level Gauges are based on the principle of magnetic coupling and buoyancy. The magnetic level gauge provides a real-time measurement of level and interface. Ideal for a wide variety of applications from oil and gas to water treatment.
The HAWK Magnetic Level Gauge (MLG) is widely applied in the monitoring and process control of liquid level and interface for many industries, such as petroleum, chemical, power, paper, metallurgy, water treatment etc.
HAWK’s Magnetic Level Gauge (MLG) is connected to a process vessel. Within the chamber is a float containing a 360° magnetic ring. Outside of the chamber is an indicator equipped with a vacuum glass tube, which contains a bicoloured two-face magnetic bargraph. In response to the level movement, the float moves accordingly, forcing the magnetic bargraph to turn and change color. True liquid level is indicated or “read” from the corresponding point on the measuring scale.
